Welcome to the CommunityWelcome to the virtual community for HKNA/Astro's Community Dog Run on the northwest corner of 39th and 10th in Hell's Kitchen, New York City. The Hell's Kitchen Neighborhood Association (HKNA) leases three green spaces from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; the Community Garden, the Dog Run, and the Bird Park. Although it exists under the auspices of the neighborhood association, Astro's Community Dog Run is a self-sustaining community - completely maintained, funded, and managed by its members. Successful 2nd Annual Howl-o-ween Happenin' PartyA big round of applause to Christina Capowich and Jennifer Phillips and all the party contributors who threw a great party, decorated the run with streamers, balloons, scary masks and pumpkins, tied up delicious bags of treats (for the dogs), grilled up kielbasa and hotdogs, piled a table high with delicious food (for the people), held a raffle and, finally, judged the dog's costume competition. The last part was the hardest. As you can see from the photos, the dogs all looked terrific! | |
