*Council members are elected each year on Membership Day. If no one runs for a council position we ask that someone from the community step forward and fill the position. There is no term limit and people are free to run for a position and serve several years in a row if they like.

Coordinator Cheryl Hamilton Rosie Dog Run Council Member*. Community leader. Coordinate volunteers and makes sure all new council members receive the paperwork necessary to perform their job. Ensure that all administrative and maintenance work for the run is accomplished to keep the run in good repair. Liaise with Chairperson and Board of HKNA. Liase with Port Authority. Envision, initiate and manage new improvements and special projects; call meetings with the general membership if necessary. Write newsletters. Ensure Membership Day is successful each year. Fill in for other council members if necessary. Call and run Council meetings as needed for decision making. Prepare annual budget w/Treasurer for Council approval. Serve as point of contact for everything related to the dog run.

Volunteer Recruiter vacant Dog Run Council Member*. Contact and welcome new members . Make sure they know we're glad they joined, answer any questions, and try to get them matched with the right volunteer job. We encourage all members to volunteer in some capacity as the well-being of the run and the spirit of shared responsibility depend on this. Attend Membership Day and other events when possible to do this. Add or remove non-council jobs as necessary in conjunction with Maintenance person. (Council positions must be added or removed by the council.) Keep paperwork description of more complex jobs such as disinfecting and raking/grating and make sure new team members get trained using team leaders whenever possible. Give shed combination to volunteers as needed. Change and redistribute the combination when necessary. Maintain this volunteer list online for community reference. Periodically review job descriptions with members to see if their job description needs to be updated to be accurate. Make sure Maintenance person is aware of team leader changes. Let the volunteers know how grateful we are for the work they are doing!

Treasurer Peter McGrane Auggie Dog Run Council Member*. Maintain accounting of all money received and spent by the run. Make sure we stay on budget, keep Coordinator informed of the budget status and let the Coordinator know if the run is in danger of going over-budget. Approve reimbursements to volunteers for expenses covered by budget. Liaise with Community Board 4 - make sure they have keys, forms, etc.; pick up checks and membership forms. (The Key and Lock volunteer can assist in making sure CB4 has keys but the system works best when our official contact with CB4 is handled solely by the Treasurer and the Coordinator. For this reason the Treasurer is the primary person responsible for making sure CB4 has keys.) Send necessary member information to Coordinator, email person, and volunteer recruiter. Send checks to HKNA. Liaise with HKNA Treasurer. Prepare annual budget w/Coordinator for council approval.

Event Coordinator / Fundraising Christina Capowich Porsche Plan and coordinate special events in the dog run such as Membership Day, holiday events, and fundraisers. Develop strategies to raise money & submit to Council for approval. Organize and execute those strategies, recruiting help as necessary from the dog run or other communities. Advertising is not allowed in the run, so fundraising must take that into account.

Conflict Resolution Liz Keefe Puccini Point of contact for all member complaints. When necessary, arbitrate negotiations between members regarding time in the run, aggressive incidents, etc. Make recommendations to the Council regarding conflicts. Call and run conflict resolution meetings when necessary. Make sure to read the documentation of past conflicts.
       
Maintenance Coordinator lulu Fries'dat Ill Nana Dog Run Council Member*. Make sure that all equipment and supplies are available and maintained. Make a list of what needs to be done each year on Membership/clean-up day and give it in advance to Coordinator, so he/she can plan accordingly. Provide Coordinator with a maintenance budget each year. Take care of any one-off maintenance jobs by either doing them or finding a volunteer to do them. (Utilize Volunteer Recruiter, Repairs person & Team Leaders.) Assist the Coordinator in envisioning and executing improvements to the run.
Garbage supplies Brenda Schaber Maxwell Keep clean bags in the bottom of the garbage can, and dry, clean gloves above the can. Let the Maintenance person know when to re-order garbage bags.

Locks & Keys vacant Coordinate with locksmith to replace the lock each spring and maintain it during the year. Assist Treasurer in making sure Community Board 4 always has a supply of keys.
Disinfecting (paid position) John Sepe & Brenda Schaber Truman/Maxwell Coordinate team members. Ensure new team members are trained by existing members and that run is disinfected weekly. Check with team members periodically that equipment and supplies are in good repair. Buy new disinfectant & masks when necessary. Let Maintenance person & Coordinator know if we are going to need to make a major purchase such as new disinfecting equipment.
Disinfecting Team Members w1 no longer using team - paying to have this done instead Disinfect approximately monthly on a rotating schedule with other team members. This needs to be done late at night or in the afternoon on a weekend. Post a sign ahead of time letting members know and a sign aftwards stating that the run is closed for 4 hours (until _X_ time.)

Raking/grating Team Leader vacant Coordinate team members. Make sure they know what needs to be done and that they have the equipment they need. Help with the raking/grating.
Raking/grating Team Members vacant Each person has a section of the run to grate. The surface needs to be kept loose and also should slope from the center of the run towards the sides. Surface that migrates to the back of the run over time should be pulled forward. All of this will help the drainage work properly and also cuts down on the dust.
